IPL: Where will all the crores go?
The world's richest cricket body helped itself to some more money courtesy the IPL. Actually, the league structure in cricket should have come in earlier as it is been existing in other sports(all the European football leagues,NBA,and so on) for quite a long time.Anyway,it is a really good idea and it will make for good viewing.
But, What will BCCI, which calls itself a non-profit organization do with the 7000 crores? It should do the following:
1. Improve and revamp all the pitches in the country.
2. Pour money into Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy and bring back their glory.
3. Make sure every cricket stadium has excellent facilities, better than the best grounds. Instead of looking to pack people into cement rows without roofs, it should have fixed chairs and proper shelter.
4. Use some part of the money to develop other games as well.
5. Make sure all domestic players are paid handsomely.
6. More importantly, set up a world class cricket academy.
